King Basran

King of Aldane. Husband to Rucella, father of Laden and Fren. He is large, with a neat gray beard and blue eyes.

History

In his youth, he was best friends with Avron and in love with Calimna. Due to the demands of the kingdoms, he married Rucella instead. In a moment of weakness, he secretly met with Calimna after years of correspondence with her, and the pregnancy with Fren resulted, unbeknownst to him.

Present

After the Night of the Tragedy, Basran lost all hope and his presence of mind. He lives in a constant state of agony over the death of Queen Rucella and the disappearance of his son Laden. He has ordered countless and endless searches, but to no avail.

When Soren approaches Aldane for help against Laden and the Seulivar, Basran offers no aid, continuing to wallow in his misery. During the final battle, he is reunited with both his sons, and finds peace, but is murdered shortly afterward by Maenos.
